The Information Security program's
mission is to reduce enterprise IT risk and ensure compliance with applicable
regulatory and contractual requirements.
Information systems at LANL are generally interconnected on an internal
lab wide network or on an extensive classified fiber network. All systems must operate under the highest
security standards in full compliance with all federal directives and ideally at
the state-of-art for cyber security anywhere.
The goal is a value-focused and customer centric information security
capability which supports the Laboratory's mission. The Chief Information
Security Officer's (CISO) focus is on the sustainability of the program -
particularly, improvements in Certification & Accreditation, IT risk,
incident management, and continuity of operations. |
