Justification: Strong leadership and technical skills are needed to coordinate cyber operations staff and ensuring appropriate defensive technologies are deployed to provide defense-in-depth and ensure effective monitoring process to protect ORNL. The person filling this position must be able to translate and justify highly technical cyber operations to management as well as design and implement technical security solutions based upon high level management requirements. The person will provide guidance to protect systems and information from technical security breaches, analyze attacks, and be able to lead an incident response team. The person must be able to integrate the diverse ORNL cyber research capabilities into daily cyber analyst operations in order to strengthen the cyber defense and response capabilities for ORNL.
